Prospective students
Master’s Degree Programmes
The Department is actively involved in two prestigious international master’s programs IMETE and IMATEC, which provide students with in-depth knowledge in environmental technologies and protection through study at multiple universities across Europe.
- IMETE - International Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Engineering
- IMATEC - International Master in Technology and Management for Circular Economy
Doctoral (Ph.D.) Programmes
Doctoral studies are research-oriented and aim to prepare students for independent scientific work in academia or industry.
- Duration: 4 years full-time, up to 7 years part-time
- Mode of study: Full-time (internal) or Part-time (external)
- Degree awarded: Ph.D. (“doktor” in Czech)
Most courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels are taught in Czech, though an increasing number are offered in English. For doctoral studies, knowledge of Czech is not always required.
Studies in English vs. Czech
Studying in Czech is free of charge for all students. Non-Czech applicants must pass the standard admission process and a Czech language entrance exam. Application deadline: March 31.
Studies in English require the payment of tuition fees, regardless of the student's nationality.
Double Degree Programmes
Students enrolled in a Double Degree Programme receive two diplomas: one from UCT Prague and one from a partner university. These programmes allow students to complete studies faster than if taken separately at each university.
UCT Prague must have a Double Degree agreement (Master or PhD) with the student’s home institution. Both universities recognize each other’s courses within the joint study plan.
Graduates benefit from holding degrees from two different countries, enhancing their international career prospects.
Exchange and Visiting Students
The Department of International Relations assists foreign students participating in short-term study stays based on agreements between universities, governments, or organizations. These students follow a learning agreement approved by their home institutions and do not receive a diploma from UCT Prague.
Examples of exchange and visiting programmes:
- Erasmus+
- IAESTE
- ATHENS
- CEEPUS
- AKTION
- ...and others.
